Discover all the fun ways you can get into your sanctuary at the Exploration Center's Sanctuary Saturday! View fishing-inspired paintings by local artist Amadeo Bachar, meet and greet with the artist himself, and enjoy a variety of family friendly activities from local organizations like seaweed printing. Sanctuary Exploration Center: World Oceans Day

Explore the ocean through art at the Sanctuary Exploration Center’s “Sanctuary Saturdays” this summer! In honor of World Ocean Day, the Center will host paintings and sculpture inspired by the sanctuary’s diversity from local artists Tim Cockrell and Jim Crowley. Join us on June 8th for the opening reception, featuring a keynote from the artists, plus family friendly activities and refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.

Kids Collage Workshop

Join us for an art workshop themed around sea otter conservation, featuring local artist Tina Fuller Somers! Participants will learn fun facts about sea otters, explore block printing and collage techniques, and help create a community art piece that will display in the Sanctuary Exploration Center for the month of May. This event is open to all ages but geared towards kids aged 8-12. This event is free but registration is required and space is limited.
