Spots are limited for 2 hours at 10am, and 12:30 on Saturdays & Sundays. Dates are subject to change without notice.  Discounts apply to produce the more you pick! Bring buckets, boxes, or other containers to harvest into, or purchase containers from them for a small fee. Make sure to dress accordingly – layers, hats, sunblock. Load up the kids, pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it!

Pigeon Point – Thar She Blows! – Jr. Rangers

Every year hundreds of whales migrate past Pigeon Point! Conduct a mini-experiment and explore how different whales use teeth or baleen to eat their favorite foods.Welcome Junior Rangers! Each program will last about 45 minutes and consists of a mini-tour of the lighthouse grounds and a hands-on activity. While children of all ages and their parents are welcome to participate in the activity and tour, only kids aged 7-12 are able to become Junior Rangers and earn badges

Santa Cruz Harbor: Free Water Taxi

The free, inner-harbor water taxi operates between 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM, on summer weekends and holidays.  In addition to weekend service, the water taxi will operate on Thursday evenings during the Crow’s Nest beach barbecues from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.  Passengers may be picked up and dropped off at the following locations:  X1 Gate (northeast harbor)  AA Dock (southwest harbor)  Launch Ramp (southeast harbor)  Please visit the Port District’s website to view the map for all water taxi pick-up and drop-off locations in the harbor. Visitor parking is available for water taxi passengers in the north harbor near X Dock.

Join a State Park Interpreter and enjoy the flora and fauna of Butano State Park on this moderate 2.5 mile loop. This hike features creekside riparian habitat, redwood forest, and oak woodlands. World Arts Festival 2024

Celebrate the diversity and richness of our community at this year's World Arts Festival! On Sunday June 23rd from 1-5PM, Tannery World Dance & Cultural Center offers free family-friendly performances outdoors at the Tannery Arts Center. The festival includes dance and music performances by new and beloved Santa Cruz and Bay Area artists, including White Hawk Indian Council, Antara Asthaayi Dance, Raizes do Brasil Capoeira, Senderos, and more. Artisans and vendors will be selling traditional crafts and wares, with food and beverages from Areparia831 and My Mom’s Mole.

Quarry Amphitheater: Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew Remain in Light Tour

Jerry Harrison is the keyboardist and guitar player for the legendary band Talking Heads. He is a Rock N Roll Hall of Fame member and received a Lifetime Achievement Grammy in 2021. Jerry has multiple critically acclaimed solo albums, including Casual Gods. Additionally, he has an illustrious career as a record producer, working with everyone from Foo Fighters, No Doubt, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Live, amongst many others. Prior to joining Talking Heads, Jerry was a member of proto-punk pioneers The Modern Lovers.   Adrian Belew was the long-time lead singer and guitarist for legendary prog rock giants King Crimson. He has also recorded with, performed alongside, and toured with Bowie, Zappa, Talking Heads, Nine Inch Nails, Tori Amos, Paul Simon, Cyndi Lauper, and more. Additionally, Adrian has released over 20 solo albums and was a 2005 Grammy Nominee  Adrian and Jerry, with their all-star backing band, bring you powerhouse renditions of Talking Heads classics like “Once In A Lifetime”, “Psycho Killer”, “Take Me To The River”, and selections from their respective solo careers. This is a must see performance.

You can get a sneak peek at the entire season for free, so you won’t feel like you will be missing a thing!  Join Santa Cruz Shakespeare’s Artistic Director, Charles Pasternak, for a sneak peek at their 2024 Season: Generations that runs July 13th–September 29th.  The 2024 Summer Festival will feature four productions including As You Like It and Hamlet by William Shakespeare, The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, and The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams.  This season’s Fringe Series will include the 2001 Pulitzer Prize winner for Drama, Proof by David Auburn, and two staged readings.
