MusicalMe Marks 30 Years of Making Music

This fall, MusicalMe will celebrate a remarkable milestone: 30 years of offering the internationally acclaimed Music Together® program to families throughout Santa Cruz and Santa Clara counties.

Since first opening classes in September 1996, MusicalMe has helped more than 65,000 children, parents, grandparents, and caregivers discover the joy of making music together. What began as a small offering has grown into one of the region’s longest-running and most beloved early childhood music programs, serving families in communities throughout both counties for three decades.

Mission And Philosophy

“Our mission has always been about much more than music,” said Lizz Weihrauch, President and CEO of MusicalMe. “Music Together helps families connect, communicate, and create joyful memories that last a lifetime. We’re incredibly grateful to the thousands of families who have trusted us to be part of their children’s earliest learning experiences.”

Research-based and internationally recognized, Music Together is designed for children from birth through age five and the adults who love them. Through singing, movement, instrument play, and family participation, children develop foundational music skills while strengthening social, emotional, cognitive, and language development.

A Legacy Of Learning

Over the past 30 years, MusicalMe has become a treasured part of family life throughout the region. Many former students are now adults, with some returning to classes with children of their own. Others have gone on to notable achievements in music, the arts, education, technology, and community leadership—testament to the lasting impact of early childhood enrichment experiences.

As part of its 30th anniversary celebration, MusicalMe will be sharing stories and memories from families across the decades, highlighting the many ways Music Together has helped create community connections and lifelong friendships.

Anniversary Celebration And Fall Sessions

The anniversary celebration also coincides with registration for MusicalMe’s Fall 2026 Music Together sessions. Fall classes, beginning in September, will officially launch MusicalMe’s 30th Anniversary Season and include special stories and memories recognizing the thousands of families who have been part of the MusicalMe community since 1996.
