CA basketry is some of the most ornate in the world, and this opportunity will pique your interest in learning more about, and supporting traditional arts and peoples. Big Basin Redwoods State Park: Guided Walk – Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Come learn about the story of Big Basin: past, present, and future while wandering under the guardian old-growth redwoods that have seen it all! This program is a 1 hour walk on a 0.6 mile, flat and easy trail designed for all ages. We will be covering the cultural history of this unique area including Indigenous groups, loggers, and preservationists. Of course, we will also discuss natural history such as the amazing coast redwood and the CZU Lightning Complex Fire as well as the future of our park.Participation is free, however, a $10 vehicle day-use fee will be charged upon arrival, or you can reserve a parking spot by clicking here. Natural Bridges Tidepool Volunteer Training Begins

Natural Bridges State Beach is seeking volunteers to share the amazing and beautiful life of the rocky shore  with the public in the visitor center and outside in the tidepools. Come and learn how Mission Santa Cruz participated in a world economy back in the early 1800’s, and the roles the native people played in the hide & tallow industry. Santa Cruz Harp Festival

Every January, Community Music School presents a family-friendly concert that features music from throughout the world on harps of all kinds. This year’s concert includes solo performances by Jesse Autumn, Jennifer Cass, Shelley Phillips, and our special guest Calvin Arsenia. Also performing will be the all-ages Community Music School Harp Orchestra. A harp “petting zoo” is available during intermission for the harp-curious. Adult tickets are $15 in advance, and $20 at the door. College students are $10, and kids under 18 are free. (Obtaining free tickets in advance is highly encouraged to assure seats are available.)
