Santa Cruz SPCA Preteen PAWS Program Ages 10-12

Preteen PAWS Tier 2 builds upon the children’s knowledge and skills from Tier 1. It runs for three weeks and builds the children’s awareness of humane and inhumane conditions that animals experience (tailored appropriately to their age). Children are introduced to the five Freedoms of animal welfare. They listen to stories, play games and write letters. The older children do research and create interactive workbooks. Every week students get to play with and give our shelter animals TLC, whilst they develop calm and trusting relationships with them.
