Castro Adobe State Historic Park: Mexican Independence Day

Happy Mexican Independence Day! In 1821, the newly formed country of Mexico gained its independence from Spain, however, Spanish culture remained on the Ranchos of Alta California during the Mexican rancho period of California history. Click the link below to register to go learn about the blending of different cultures at the Castro Adobe, and how influence of different cultural groups was evident throughout California, from the saddles that vaqueros sat on to the structure of the Potter-Church Garden behind the Castro Adobe.
